My Pretty Black Leather Planner
Hello planner friends across the globe. As I stated before–I am a planner enthusiast! Soooo…I’m super excited for today’s post. I am about to talk to you about my pretty black leather planner!!
I have secretly been wanting a Kate Spade Wellesley zip planner. It is the perfect size for me–personal size. I have wanted a black leather planner for years. I just never got one because of budget…you all know what I’m talking about. I am a mother of three, and you all know we moms put our kids needs and wants before our own. So for many years I would just get a planner from Target or Marshall’s 🙁 (which isn’t bad to do, it just would make me sad that another year would pass by and no leather planner.). Many years I have had so many different kinds of planners, way to many to list. Name a brand I have probably used it. For many years I ordered Lilly Pulzer planners. They are cute and whimsical, however, I wanted a “grown up” planner.
With that being said, two years ago I actually spent money on me! I did a lot of research on different personal size black leather planners. Many weeks of hemming and holing about which one was right for me. I decided to get the Kate Spade Wellesley in black leather. And you all know how much I love the color black!! I AM SO OBSESSED WITH MY PRETTY BLACK LEATHER PLANNER!!! The picture does not do her justice. It has a wonderful feel to it when I touch it–soft smooth pebble leather–that has broken in so nicely in just two years of use. When I actually can zipper my planner, because sometimes it’s chunky, the zipper zips like a knife in smooth butter.
NOTE: I think my family thinks that I am a crazy obsessed nut job. I just love my planner and look forward to getting it out to write in. My planner is one of the little joys in my life — right up there with my husband and kids. I guess I am the type of gal who is not high maintenance, so I get joy from the little things in life. Spending my time with family and close friends, and of course my planner brings me joy– it’s that simple for me.
I love that I can have something of my own even though everyone’s schedules are written down inside. I love the fact that I can control the personalization and really customize my planner. It is unique just like me. Being able to make it my own is rewarding to me. I made my own dashboard and inserts with colors and prints that I enjoy looking at every day. My inserts inspire and motivate me to use my planner every day! It also helps me to keep my life in order. I know I will still use my planner even after all the kids leave the house and we are empty nesters!
Some planner friends have lots of busyness and stickers in their planners. I tend to like to keep things simple and functional. I use stickers, but I love the simplicity of my black pen on white paper. I still color code with a different color highlighter for each family member. (Read previous blog post). It works for our family. That’s the key–you have to find a system that works for you and tweak it to help you stay organized.
I have been “hoarding” a stash of functional stickers–target dollar spot, dollar tree, and Michaels–I know I have an addiction LOL.
I will say it again and again and again–Whatever Planner YOU choose, you must make it your own! Call me old-fashion or old-school but I really enjoy writing with pen and paper. It is actually relaxing to me. Especially in today’s era with all the technology out there. I do not use my phone for my planner–it may work for others , but it does not work for me. Like I stated above I love writing with pen and paper, it’s simple to do but it brings happiness to my life.
These are the sections that I personally have in my planner:

To Do List/Projects
Notes

My Lists: books, goodwill wish list, my Etsy Shop business
Well my planner friends, I wish for planner peace for you. I have found my planner peace two years ago. My only regret is that I wish I bought my Kate Spade ♠️ Wellesley sooner. Sometimes we moms need to do things for us once in a while.
Be kind to others and stay safe my friends.
